Understanding and Treating Domestic Violence Issues -Training

The Maine Legislature recently enacted a requirement that all licensed counselors and social workers obtain 12 contact units in treating the issues of domestic violence by 2020 in order to renew licenses.

In order to meet that mandate, MEMHCA has contacted The Maine Coalition to End Domestic Violence who will be offering two twelve hour training sequences, one in Bangor, the other in Freeport.  Each training is made up of two days in order to complete the full requirement.

The first six hours (module one and two) will be offered at the Richard E Dyke Family Center for Family Business at Husson University, in Bangor, on September 21, 2018.  Day two (module three and four) will be offered at a later date,  hopefully early November.

This sequence will be offered  for the second time at The Freeport Community Library in early spring.  Dates will be announced after the first of the year.
